above left is how my plunger looked at first.the plungers were cut off another frame (an old triumph 500 i think) and welded onto mine.the springs could`nt handle the weight and squashed up as soon as the bike was on the road.the frame became too low to get around corners after the first bump . above right the welds were all molded before spraying and the springs were beefed up a bit by adding inch spacers above and below the springs..i also made the top spring longer/bottom spring shorter to gain ground clearance by simply cutting some off the top and adding it to the bottom .it worked better then but was very springy and caused a lot of chain slap and the fender had to be mounted too high. now it also has internal springs(cb750f2 valve springs to be precise :) )to stiffen it up.the fender was lowered again and now the wheel never gets close to it.it works great now.
as you can see in the last pic above... it can handle weight no problem. it goes to rallies fully loaded two up and is pretty comfy as chops go.it handles good too and has been put through the test on irish back roads several times.
