James Aubry Finley Sr. was born in Doddridge County, West Virginia and enlisted while living on Lambert's Run Harrison County, WV in 1943 when he was 18 years old. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific and was in the invasion of the Philippines. He is buried in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Beulah, MD.
