Robert Hammond born 1922, the son of Cecil Garfield and Dessie Lee (Allen) Hammond.
Robert died when the USS Honolulu was torpedoed on Oct 20, 1944.
Robert is buried in the Ft. MCKinley U.S. Military Cemetery (Manilla, Philippines Islands
Robert married Elva Kenney prior to induction into the US Navy. His siblings are: Evert (1910-1983) married to Zelma Mae Harbert, Lloyd Wayne (1911-2005) married to Lalah Mae McVicker, Bert L. (1918. married to Gertrued Hassel in 1944.
