The 35th annual Wilt Reunion (descendants of Arthur Martin and Ruth Naomi Jamison Wilt) was held at the Lewis Pavilion on Sang Run near Oakland, MD on August 16/17, 2008. Sunday was a beautiful sunny day with temperatures in the low 70s. A covered dish lunch beginning at 1 PM was enjoyed by everyone present. Good cooks abound. After the great meal there was a 50/50 drawing and then an auction. A great many items were actioned to raise money for next years reunion. After the auction the annual meeting was held.
A report of the Saturday evening events was given by the President. Everyone attending the Saturday evening gathering had a good time. It could have not been a more beautiful day. The same officers were retained for another year. An announcement was made as to the Thanksgiving gathering and for more information please contact Lois.It was agreed that the 36th Annual Wilt Reunion will be held at the Lewis Pavilion on Sang Run next year and the date was set for the third weekend in August. The date is 15/16 August 2009. (Please check with one of the planners to make sure because I am known to make mistakes when it comes to dates a year away.) Plans will be made to have the Saturday afternoon and evening with a corn roast. Sunday event will have barbecued chicken with everyone bringing a covered dish.
There were 65 in attendance for this reunion.
