William H. Williams
William H. Williams was born June 4, 1921 the son of Charles H. and Anna Williams.
Charles was a veteran of World War I serving as a Pvt in the 35th Depot Brigade.
William's grandparents were Calvin J. and Carmella (Buzzard) Williams.
William, prior to WWII worked for the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Clarksburg, WV.
Lt. Williams was married to the former Peggy Evelyn Gore (b. 1922 d. 1999).
He died Sept 17, 1943 of wounds while serving with the 12th Army Air Corp later to
be incorporated into the 15th Air Force. He is buried next to his father and wife
in Greenlawn Cemetery in Clarksburg, Harrison Co., West Virginia.
The Purple Heart was awarded to LT. William H. Williams posthumously
